Disclosure Practices

We will not deliberately sell, share, or otherwise disclose your personal data to any third party except as ordered by a court of law.  We take industry-standard steps to ensure that we do not accidentally disclose it either.

What Data We Gather

If you are using only our free tier, the only personal information we gather about you is your email address.  This is absolutely necessary in order to perform our service, as a destination for the notifications.  We do not need, and therefore do not want, anything more.  Furthermore, we verify that you have consented to our having your email address, by means of a "confirmed opt-in" — in order to use our service, you must give us your email address, receive an email at that address, and then use a link contained in that email, confirming the email address and your consent to our having it.  If you do not consent to us having your email address, you are simply not able to use our service at this time.

If this thing really takes off, we may later record web-analytical data such as IP addresses, pages visited, for how long, etc., and email-open statistics gathered through means such as embedded pixels, but we will take steps to anonymize, aggregate, protect, etc. all such data as appropriate.

If you buy additional credits, that remains to be worked out, as this software is still in Alpha stage.  We may also offer additional services, such as notification via SMS, that will require gathering additional data.  However, whatever additional data we need, we will take industry-standard steps to protect it.  At this time we are looking to not keep (ideally not even receive) your credit card number, or any other payment-related personal data.

If you use our contact form (for confirmed users only), you will be asked for a name.  You are required to put something there, but you not obligated to put your real name there.  It is there mainly to give us something to address you by.  Note that the contact form does send us your email address (necessary so that we know with whom we are corresponding), but since only confirmed users can use it, we already have that anyway.

If you send us email, of course we will have your email address and name — or whatever you claim them to be.

Right to Be Forgotten

You have the right to have your account deleted.  We intend to supply a button for you to achieve this on a self-service basis.  Your user record, and all your site-checking records, will be destroyed.  HOWEVER, copies and other traces may remain indefinitely in our backups, logs, financial records, correspondence with you, etc.  Also note that any remaining credits, whether paid or free, will be destroyed as part of your user record, and will not be refunded nor transferred.
